4 friends with a shared passion
The beginning of Den Berk Délice
Luc Beirinckx, Hans van Gool, Paul van de Mierop and Koen Lauwerysen already know each other for more than 25 years. In the early nineties, they got in touch through a common study club. They were re all managing a cultivating company at the time.
"From the beginning, there was a vibe and we were all on the same page. We all had the same passion and the same vision: To innovate and improve the tomato category. With a focus on craftmanship, quality and innovation."
Quickly, they started with a second study, where they shared their business numbers with each other. "Labour, purchase, sales, we didn't have any secrets." That was unique, at the time. "This way, we could strengthen our companies and the bond of trust only became stronger."
Throughout the years, the collaboration further developed: the growers arranged their purchases together and made study trips abroad, to strengthen their vision and business management. In 2014, the entrepreneurs took the next step in their collaboration: The companies, close to each other, united under the name of Den Berk Délice.
